About The Team
Rail is critical to Australia's future - and so is the way we engage with those who use, live and work near our network.
We're committed to doing this with respect, transparency and care. Community feedback is a key part of that. If you're passionate about helping people, solving problems, and being part of a team that makes a difference - we'd love to hear from you.

This is a fast-paced and highly rewarding position. You'll manage incoming community enquiries through our central system, helping ensure ARTC is responsive, reliable, and accountable to the communities we work in.
You'll need to be confident managing sensitive or emotionally charged complaints, prioritising under pressure, and navigating internal teams to get things done. You'll also be responsible for tracking and reporting on enquiries using Consultation Manager , our community engagement database.
This is a hands-on role based in Adelaide , working closely with your manager and colleagues across the country.
Key responsibilities
- Respond to and coordinate the resolution of incoming enquiries, complaints, and feedback from the public, councils, MPs, and agencies
- Work with internal teams to understand and resolve issues efficiently — referring matters to Community Relations Advisors only when needed
- Maintain accurate and complete records of all community interactions in Consultation Manager
- Draft and review responses to complex issues, escalating where appropriate
- Monitor trends in community sentiment and highlight emerging risks or hotspots
- Prepare summary reports or insights to inform team planning and internal briefings
- Support the development and upkeep of response templates and public-facing materials
- Represent ARTC professionally and compassionately in all community interactions
What do we want from you?
Essential
- Experience in a community-facing or stakeholder engagement role, particularly involving complaint handling or issue resolution
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal – with the ability to stay calm, constructive and respectful under pressure
- Organised and capable of managing multiple priorities at once in a live operating environment
- Demonstrated ability to build trust with internal teams and the public, balancing empathy with policy and process
Desirable
- Experience preparing correspondence for or liaising with MPs, councils, or regulators
- Familiarity with data reporting tools such as Power BI or Microsoft 365 apps (e.g. Excel, Power Apps)
- Awareness of how infrastructure projects or transport networks interact with communities
- Background in customer relations, local government, utilities, or environmental compliance
- Confident using systems like Consultation Manager, or similar tools for logging, tracking, and reporting on public enquiries
What will you get from us?
- Talk to us about flexible working options
- Competitive remuneration
- Resources to support your health and wellbeing and development
- Novated leasing options, as well as discounts and support programs
- 24/7 Employee Assistance Program for all employees and their direct family members
