As we transform and expand Newcastle Art Gallery, an exciting opportunity exists to join our evolving team as a casual
Gallery Assistant (Operations)
to support in the delivery of the Gallery's program of exhibitions, events and customer service.

This is a customer-facing role, working across all Gallery spaces. The position is driven from the front entry welcome desk supporting Operations & Experience Officer in the operation of Gallery spaces and activities within the building during opening hours.

As a Gallery Assistant (Operations), you will play a key role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for all visitors, while protecting artworks and ensuring operational procedures are followed. The role also includes supporting ticketing processes, minor cleaning duties, and assisting with after-hours and public events.

Gallery Assistants may have the opportunity to expand their responsibilities by taking on additional casual roles within the Gallery, including assisting with exhibition installation and program delivery, based on individual interests and identified skill sets.
