Payroll Officer

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Officer to join our Finance Team in Melbourne. As a Payroll Officer, you would be responsible for handling a payroll function for a team of 200 plus employees. Ideally you will have experience of managing a large payroll operation with a solid understanding of all payroll related matters, to maintain accuracy and integrity of payroll system data, and to assist staff and management with all payroll related queries.
Responsibilities:
- Full payroll function including Salary, allowance, overtime and payroll deductions calculation / processing.
- Month end reporting for distribution to key stakeholders, including month end journals preparation
- Completing Payroll tax and Workcover calculation.
- Maintaining knowledge of taxation laws relevant to remuneration and ensuring compliance with all statutory obligations in relation to payroll.
- Yearly reporting including Ad Hoc reports requested by the management.
Requirements
- Experience with any of Micropay (highly regarded), ADP, SAP, HR3, Chris21 or similar Payroll Processing System
- Experience with Medium Sized Payroll
- Knowledge of payroll tax and Workcover legislation in Victoria, NSW and QLD.
- Experience dealing with ATO, Centrelink, Superannuation clearing houses.
- Experience with Workday is an advantage.
- Solid experience in a similar role, preferably in the IT industry
