ABOUT THE BRANCH & TEAM

The Service Delivery Office (SDO) is a leader in providing services to Commonwealth entities. The SDO presents a unique opportunity to be involved in developing innovative service delivery arrangements, with an approach to collaboration and sharing of resources that has the potential to add value to not only for existing customers but to set the scene for new ways of working across the Australian Public Service (APS).

The Operations & Service Management Branch is one of three branches within the Enterprise Systems and Services Division and provides a range of corporate transactional services to Commonwealth entities in areas of human resources, payroll, finance and travel and expense management. The Branch works collaboratively with its client entities on delivering services more efficiently, through streamlining processes, and increasing self-service capability, to allow staff to focus on high-value, customer service-based activities.

The Engagement & Finance team provides essential support to the division by driving strategic financial oversight, operational performance reporting, procurement and stakeholder engagement. As the division's Procurement team delivers strategic and operational procurement support to ESSD aligned to the departments policies and processes. The team plays a critical role in enabling the delivery of Shared Services by ensuring procurement activities are compliant, efficient, and aligned with whole-of-government policy.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Engagement & Finance team has the opportunity for an Assistant Director, ICT Procurement & Contract Manager role to join a small, supportive and high performing team. You will be working to manage the Enterprise Systems and Service Division (ESSD) ICT contract management and procurement function aligned to the department's processes. This includes managing the various established ICT contracts and preparing new procurements that enable the division to deliver its role and responsibilities as a shared service provider.

The role works closely with the division's Executive, and the departments central procurement team, working autonomously on tasks and activities across all aspects of procurement and the full contract management lifecycle. Working in close partnership with the Director, you will enthusiastically share your well developed skills and knowledge on procurement and contract management activities under the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 (PGPA Act).

In this role, you will provide effective and timely procurement and/or contract management advise and support the division. Please refer to the vacancy pack for more detail.
