Details: The ACT Government Analytical Laboratory is seeking a motivated and experienced chemist to take on the role of Assistant Director in the Forensic Chemistry Unit. The Unit conducts forensic analysis of drugs and poisons to support controlled substances legislation and harm minimisation initiatives in the ACT.

As Assistant Director, you will:

  • Lead complex forensic casework
  • Provide expert advice to stakeholders
  • Drive quality improvement projects
  • Support the Director in managing daily operations

Eligibility/Other requirements:

  • Applicants must hold undergraduate degree in science (major and/or postgraduate studies in Chemistry or a related discipline highly desirable).
  • Applicants must hold a current driver's licence.
  • Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.

Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
