The Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) is seeking an experienced executive to lead the Authority as their Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for a term of three months as a backfill arrangement

As the CEO, you will provide visionary leadership to the Authority and oversee the management of the Sydney Olympic Park precinct as it continues its transformation into a vibrant, thriving and well-connected metropolitan hub. You will shape and drive a bold strategic agenda that balances the delivery of diverse housing and employment opportunities, world-class events and sustainability outcomes – ensuring the precinct remains one of NSW's premier destinations to live, work and visit.

You will lead reform to reposition SOPA's role within government, guiding its evolution from a place manager to a strategic enabler of urban transformation. With accountability for the execution of the precinct's Master Plan, you will harness government-owned assets, infrastructure investment and strategic partnerships to unlock economic, environmental and social value.

This role requires a dynamic, influential leader who can inspire teams, build trust across government and industry, and deliver outcomes that shape the future of the precinct and the broader NSW community.

  • Bring strong commercial, governance and financial acumen, with the ability to deliver sustainable organisational performance and accountability.

  • Possess exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the capacity to influence outcomes at the highest levels of government and industry.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to translate long-term strategic vision into practical implementation strategies that deliver measurable results.
