The role
Sydney Olympic Park Authority (SOPA) is looking for a committed Operations Manager Aquatic to lead the day-to-day operations of the renowned Aquatic Centre. This key position involves overseeing the planning and execution of major events, managing pool operations, and ensuring the facility is well maintained.
In this role, you will be instrumental in building and cultivating a culture of collaboration and high performance. Your leadership will support team growth and help members reach their goals, all while fostering a positive and productive workplace.
Success in this role depends on your ability to build and sustain strong relationships with both internal colleagues and external partners, balancing the diverse needs of the Centre's user groups. You will also assess maintenance needs and proactively address emerging risks to guarantee a safe and efficient pool environment.

What you will bring to the role
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, fostering a positive and productive work environment, with a focus on rebuilding and revitalizing the team.
- Experience in developing and implementing operational systems and procedures to ensure high standards of service delivery and safety.
- Proven ability to monitor and manage budgets, providing continuous reporting and evaluation to align operational needs with budgetary priorities.
- Expertise in identifying and addressing emerging risks and operational service issues, ensuring a safe working culture.
- Ability to think critically and develop practical solutions to complex operational challenges.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, customer-focused services and promoting positive customer experiences.
What is an essential requirement:
- Tertiary qualifications and/or substantial experience relating to the management of public venues
- Aquatic Technical Operator Certificate (SISSS00131) or equivalent (must be willing to obtain within 6 months of employment)
- Current - Pool Lifeguard qualification (SISSS00133)
- Current - Provide First Aid (HLTAID011)
- Current – Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (HLTAID009)
- A Working with Children Check is an essential requirement for this role. The role has been identified as requiring a check in keeping with the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012.
