Fashion Designer

We are a progressive business who has continued to grow and evolve. Our brands Mon Renn and Sovere are powered by a close-knit team and are seeking an experienced Designer to join them on their journey of creating elevated, effortless pieces.

We are looking for a Designer to work within the team on Mon Renn as maternity cover for an 8-10 month period- starting January 2026. With potential opportunities in the future to assist in the development of new projects within the business.

We have a brand-new office in the heart of Surry Hills, right next to Central Station. We offer generous staff allowance and a supportive and flexible office.

The ideal candidate will be a creative and passionate self-starter who will take this unique opportunity to build and evolve the brands.

RESPONSIBILITIES +

• Provide seasonal research including colour trends, silhouettes, fabric direction, newness in trims and garment details, relevant to Brand DNA and that the seasonal message is told throughout.
• Reviewing with Sales past seasons' sales reports to ensure key shapes are evolved and factored in for future collections.
• Developing and adhering to range architecture – a mix of shapes, and fabrication to meet a variety of demographic and climates.
• Collaborate on fabric and print sourcing– booking and attending fabric and print studio appointments at the commencement of each season.
• Provide creative brief to source new fabric qualities and accessories.
• Create Seasonal Concept Presentation boards for each collection as part of the Design's presentation for each new season to the business.
• In collaboration with other designers on the team - design and process selected groups within each collection
• Creating Tech packs ensuring all relevant information has been captured to develop each design from sketch to fitting sample and final SMS
• Manage digital range boards ensuring the boards are continually updated with final coloured CADS/sketches and progression of updates
• Attend fit sessions, working with garment technicians to communicate all fitting and design changes required to achieve the desired design and commercial fit.
• Participate in range handover to the Sales team and provide them with relevant mood boards
• As required provide support on shoots - including, casting, location research, model, photographer, stylist bookings and on-the-day planning, coordinating and assistance.
• As required provide graphic support with seasonal Look Book image editing and layout as well image assets for sales and marketing teams.
• Create line sheet and imagery for sales invite and look book.
• Adhering to Range Price Point Architecture – majors, i.e. global demographic, climatic.
• Provide creative direction and assist in content as required for socials.
• Collaborate across departments to provide creative direction for all aspects of the business where required.

REQUIREMENTS +

• Superior knowledge of design and garment construction and fits
• Must hold a degree or equivalent qualifications in Fashion Design
• Minimum 3+ years' experience in a Designer position for similar leading womens fashion brand.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must have excellent hand sketching as well as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign skills
• Ability to develop relationships with key suppliers and people across all levels within the business
• Extremely well organised and efficient with excellent time management skills
• High attention to detail
• Ability to work within a team and adhere to tight deadlines
• Ability to be flexible and reactionary to the market
