Our client, a leading provider of innovative HVAC solutions in Melbourne's northern suburbs, is seeking an experienced
Sales Engineer
to join their growing team. This role offers the opportunity to combine your technical expertise with strong relationship-building skills to drive new business and deliver customised heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning solutions.

About the Role

Reporting to the Sales Manager, you'll take ownership of developing and maintaining key customer relationships across consultants, contractors, and end users. You'll identify opportunities, provide technical input on system design and selection, and prepare competitive proposals that meet project and client requirements. This is a mix of technical sales, customer engagement, and market development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase market share and revenue growth.
  • Build long-term relationships with consultants, contractors, and end clients.
  • Conduct site visits and technical assessments to identify and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Prepare and present proposals and quotations in line with client expectations.
  • Attend trade shows, site meetings, and networking events to enhance market visibility.
  • Share customer and competitor insights to support continuous improvement and strategy.

About You

  • Demonstrated success in external sales or business development within HVAC or a related technical field.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Sound understanding of HVAC&R principles or systems (advantageous).
  • Driven, organised, and confident managing multiple opportunities.
