We're seeking a candidate with experience managing a team of Business Analysts, ideally within the Telco sector, who can bring both strategic insight and hands-on leadership to the role.

Internally, the position is referred to as Manager, BA Practice.

This is a permanent position located at our Melbourne office, with a hybrid work arrangement.

Let's talk about you

As Manager, BA Practice, you play a critical leadership role in shaping the Business Analysis function, driving capability uplift, and ensuring strategic alignment between business needs and technology solutions.

To successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A proven track record as a BA Manager delivering high-quality Business Analysis outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of business analysis methods, tools, and frameworks (e.g., BABOK, Agile BA practices).
  • Knowledge of telco operations, including BSS/OSS systems and process value streams.
  • Thought leadership in Business Analysis skills and tools and knowing which tool is appropriate for the work – including requirement elicitation, feature slicing and decomposition into stories, story mapping, business process modelling, uses cases and non-functional requirements.
  • Excellent people leadership skills with experience growing capability in a discipline, together with commercial acumen and the ability to link analysis work directly to business value.
  • Strong analytical, planning and organisational skills with an ability to manage competing demands across teams.
  • Strong systems thinking and problem-solving skills – ability to connect the dots and plot a way forward.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders at all levels to quickly build deep collaborative working relationships

As Manager, BA Practice, mentorship is grounded in purpose and care, shaping the Business Analysis capability to deliver clear, consistent, and high-quality insights that drive real business and customer value.

Reporting to GM, EPMO, as part of the Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (EPMO), you will develop and manage trusted relationships with internal and external delivery teams and senior leaders and use business and commercial acumen to ensure BA work is aligned, high-quality, and creates measurable business and customer value.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building and leading the BA Practice (capability, standards, frameworks, and people).
  • Leading BA work for high complex programs and projects
  • Partnering with key stakeholders to translate outcomes into actionable requirements.
  • Owning the BA discipline, setting the standard, defining the tools, and making sure our analysis work is consistent, clear, and valuable.
  • Providing thought leadership on discovery and analysis for complex change.
  • Creating an environment where BAs and Senior BAs feel supported, empowered, and proud of their craft.
  • Providing input into planning, prioritisation, and resource allocation of BA team to maximise value delivery.
  • Leading and driving our shift towards ensuring agility in our delivery practices and consistent way of working across all areas of the delivery lifecycle.  You are the delivery culture we want, consistently demonstrating these behaviours.
