We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Accounts Receivable Officer to join our friendly and supportive Accounts team based on site at our Ballarat Head Office.

If you are a 'numbers person' this role may be for you  Further training will be provided in addition to your experience.

About the ROLE

Working in a finance team of 10 and reporting to the Finance Manager, the main responsibilities will include;

  • Daily allocating/receipting of payments
  • Daily Bank statement reconciliations
  • Verify and post receipts plus resolve any discrepancies with customers and our branches
  • Set up new customers on the ERP system including obtaining trade references
  • Handle telephone account queries and provide high level of customer service
  • Process adjustments and rebates on customer accounts as required
  • Process month end, including running debtor statements
  • Assist with other duties within the Finance team as required
  • Build positive working relationships internally and with customers.
  • Assist with ad-hoc duties as required

Hours of work Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5.06pm (38 hours) with 30 minutes lunch break.

About YOU

Ideally, you will have at least 2 years' experience in AR and a good attitude and passion for accounts.

Preferred skills and experience include:

  • End-to-end Accounts Receivable experience is essential, along with experience in reconciliations and end of month activities
  • Comfortable and capable of working within a high-volume transactional environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks with a high-level attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to confidently work in a team environment
  • Professional and courteous phone manner; strong customer service mindset
  • Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting/ERP software
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Analytical skills
  • Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records.
