What You'll Do
Telstra Business - Telstra Business Technology Centres provides IT and business support to Telstra's business customers.
The Account Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting small and medium business customers by delivering tailored communications and ICT solutions through the Telstra Business Technology Centre (TBTC) network. This role is focused on building and nurturing strong customer relationships within a defined portfolio, ensuring each business receives the right technology to meet its goals. By deeply understanding customer needs and applying strong organisational skills, the Account Manager helps businesses reduce time spent on tech troubleshooting and increase time spent on business growth. A key aspect of the Account Manager role is to proactively identify and qualify complex business opportunities, generating leads for our specialist teams to deliver tailored solutions that drive meaningful outcomes for our customers.
This role is based in Ballarat, with a preference for candidates who are familiar with the local community and able to work from an office location alongside team members.
Key Responsibilities:
Here is how you will bring this role to life:
Manage customer relationships across a defined portfolio to drive satisfaction, retention, and growth.
Achieve individual and team sales KPIs, including revenue, profitability, and Net Promoter Score (NPS).
Execute outbound campaigns and contribute to portfolio strategy to support customer acquisition and retention.
Handle inbound and outbound sales and service contracts, ensuring timely responses, lead escalation, and issue resolution.
Identify and qualify complex business opportunities, generating leads for specialist teams.
Collaborate authentically with internal teams and Telstra partners to support customer initiatives and lead generation.
Develop and maintain account and portfolio plans that align with business goals and strategic growth.
Maintain accurate customer data to support reporting and performance tracking.
Continuously upskill in Telstra's product and solution portfolio to better support customer needs.
Embrace change and technology to improve customer outcomes and business efficiency.
About You:
What you'll bring
Essential
Strong relationship management and customer engagement abilities
Proven sales experience, including achieving KPIs and closing deals
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and self-motivate in a hybrid/office environment
Organizational skills for managing portfolios and account plans
Problem-solving and strategic thinking
Willingness to embrace change and learn new technologies
Negotiation skills
Highly desirable
Experience in ICT or Telco sales (minimum two years preferred)
Commercial acumen and growth mindset
Experience with outbound sales campaigns and lead generation
Stakeholder management and collaboration with internal/external teams
Familiarity with reporting and maintaining accurate customer data
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
