Security Coordinator

Join us as a Security Coordinator and play an important role in supporting the safe and successful delivery of events. The position will be responsible for assisting the event planning team by developing and coordinating security requirements for each event, preparing accurate and timely security quotes, liaising with operational teams, external security providers and clients, to ensure appropriate security coverage and compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

The role provides expert advice and guidance on security planning, risk mitigation and crowd management strategies to event organisers, tailored to the specific needs of each event. Working closely with the Operational and Sales & Planning Departments, the Security Coordinator will ensure that all security arrangements are aligned with organisational objectives, operational capabilities and client expectations.

The position has a high contact requirement on site.

About the Role

• Develop and maintain comprehensive security plans and procedures for various event types and operational scenarios, liaising closely with internal stakeholders providing guidance on best-practice
• Conduct security risk assessments and threat analysis for planned events and ongoing operations
• Support security planning for major events, including detailed threat assessment and risk analysis, liaising with external stakeholders
• Deliver comprehensive event security briefings and operational plans to all security personnel
• Support the Security Manager in emergency response activities and incident management during events
• Process invoicing for event security contracts in accordance with financial procedures
• Coordinate briefings with internal stakeholders, event organisers, contractors and emergency services to discuss security arrangements, emergency procedures and access control requirements
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver operational efficiencies

About you:

• You have completed a Certificate IV in Security Operations
• You have a Diploma in Public Safety/Security Risk Management
• Working knowledge of the events industry and security planning requirements
• Strong decision-making ability and capacity to work effectively under pressure within a risk management framework
• Extensive experience engaging with diverse stakeholders at all levels, demonstrating strong communication skills
• Exceptional presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
• Previous operational experience in the events industry
• Commercial awareness and basic financial management skills for quoting and contract management
