Next Practice East Perth is looking for a Patient Advocate (Medical Receptionist) of exceptional quality. Someone who is invested in going above and beyond, delivering emotionally intelligent customer service and patient care that aligns with our culture and values of creating centres of excellence.

The patient advocate's core purpose is to efficiently and effectively perform administrative tasks within the clinic. It's a hands-on role and essential to the successful running of the practice, particularly as it includes being one of the first points of contacts for patients and visitors. Providing an optimal patient experience and the smooth operation of the Next Practice concept is essential.

Patient advocates have a key responsibility to support the patient and the clinicians; the primary shared focus is to ensure that each patient receives seamless and supportive care with a focus on health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working as part of a team with the Practice Manager, you will ensure provision of exceptional support services to medical providers, nurses and patients.
  • Access, co-ordinate and manage patient medical records with utmost confidentiality.
  • Responding to telephone calls, patient triage and booking patient appointments.
  • Ensuring patients feel welcome, offer assistance when required and ensure they feel valued.
  • Identify, record and process billing and fee payment instructions.
  • Document scanning, managing communication channels including emails and general administrative tasks.

Skills and experience

  • Prior experience as a Medical Receptionist preferably in a health care facility.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency and familiarity with medical software and IT systems including Microsoft Office/Excel.
  • A friendly, professional and a patient-focused approach.
