As a Project Officer for the Working Together with Men pilot program, you'll play a crucial role in promoting men's engagement in gender-based violence prevention at the University of Melbourne. You'll have the opportunity to co-facilitate training workshops for senior male staff members, focusing on allyship and violence prevention. This role offers you the chance to contribute to the University's Respect Action Plan , working collaboratively with RMIT to drive meaningful change. You'll gain valuable experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and workshop facilitation while addressing critical social issues in a dynamic university environment.
Your responsibilities will include:
Coordinate Pilot Project: Manage key administrative tasks, including inquiry management, onboarding, and event planning.
Co-Facilitate Workshops: Lead training sessions on gender-based violence prevention, covering topics such as gender equity, sexism, and intersectionality.
Implement Communication Strategies: Ensure stakeholders are well-informed about project progress, issues, and risk mitigation strategies.
Build Stakeholder Relationships: Foster effective partnerships to encourage active participation and promote a culture of respect.
You may be a great fit if:
You are a passionate advocate for gender equity with strong project coordination skills, capable of engaging effectively with diverse stakeholders and comfortable discussing sensitive topics in a workshop setting.
You may also:
Have a tertiary qualification with relevant experience in gender-based violence prevention.
Possess experience in supporting the implementation of programs or initiatives.
Demonstrate strong co-facilitation skills in workshops, peer support, or mentoring.
Have excellent organisational and administrative abilities, with attention to detail.
