About the opportunityWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Project Coordinator. In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Head of the Portfolio Management Office (PMO) and project teams, providing hands-on project coordination and leading a cohort of Project Coordinators and Administrators.

You will play a key role in ensuring the successful delivery of organisational programs, developing and monitoring project tools and metrics, and driving continuous improvement in project management practices. Your leadership will be essential in resource allocation, staff development, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Provide project planning, scheduling, and coordination support across the portfolio
  • Monitor project performance, ensuring timely and accurate reporting on schedules, finances, and resources
  • Lead and mentor a team of Project Coordinators, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
  • Develop and improve project management tools, templates, and processes
  • Facilitate meetings, track actions, and escalate risks as needed
  • Ensure projects are delivered within approved baselines and organisational frameworks

What You'll Bring

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a project/portfolio management office environment
  • Proven experience managing a team of project coordinators
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, resource planning, and scheduling
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Replicon, JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Project)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and leadership skills
