The role will primarily support injured team members through early intervention and ongoing recovery from workplace injury and manage the workers compensation claims process. The role will drive the promotion of recovery and return to work through establishing Return to Work (RTW) Plans and coaching leaders in the management of the RTW process. The role will be the designated RTW Coordinator for Apparel Brands in some states/territories.
The role will liaise with insurers, ensuring claims are lodged and information provided in a timely manner to drive decision making and work with the payroll to ensure team members receive prompt and accurate workers compensation benefits. The role will also assist with the implementation of Apparel Brands Safety Management System.
- 2x new full-time, permanent positions available
- Bring your workers compensation and return-to-work experience to deliver optimal outcomes within a self-insured environment

- Initiate and maintain regular communication with injured team members, people leaders, insurers, rehabilitation providers, treating doctors and other health professionals to bring about effective return to work programs, including monitoring of RTW Plans in accordance with medical recommendations and progression of recovery.
- Coach and advise people leaders in the management of injured team members and safety procedures, driving a safety focus and early return to work culture across all sites.
- Manage all workers compensation claims from receipt to closure, including timely submission of all claim documentation and payments of compensation to team members, managing calculation of weekly compensation payments and management of insurer reimbursement process.
- Meeting with relevant stakeholders to develop case management strategies, responding to difficult and sensitive issues and advising injured team members of their entitlements.
- Participate in regular claim reviews with Insurers as well as ad hoc reviews as necessary.
- Participate in a range of health and safety programs and initiatives, across the business, designed to reduce or prevent workplace injury or perform other tasks as required.
- Provide monthly active claims reports outlining status of all active Apparel Brands workers compensation cases.
- Review new safety incident reports and escalate any significant/serious incidents and LTIs.
- Maintain Claims Management IT system (Elumina) to electronically manage claim portfolio.
- Availability to take calls (out of office hours) from newly injured team members every 2nd weekend and through late night trade
About you:

Benefits to you:
- Generous team member discounts on all Myer products, including team-member exclusive discounts
