Myer is looking for a Claims & Injury Management Advisor - VIC to manage workers compensation claims under our self-insurance program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and delivery of prompt and accurate workers compensation benefits to injured team members. You will be supporting injured team members and site management through the delivery of best practice early intervention and return to work assistance, implementing strategies to minimise the impact of injury for team members and the business; and provide effective coaching and mentoring to site management to drive improvements in claims performance and outcomes across the business.

About the role:
- Manage the end-to-end operation of workers compensation claims in accordance with legislation, regulations and terms of our self-insurance licence.
- Collect and consider factual and medical information to support decision making in accordance with WorkSafe' sustainable decision making framework.
- Liaise with treatment providers, including allied health professionals, specialist and treating doctor to ensure efficacious and cost-effective treatment, ensuring treatment requests are promptly determined.
Calculate compensation entitlements, ensuring team members receive correct workers compensation payments.
Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to promote return to work, proactively identify barriers and implement effective strategies to improve return to work outcomes, reduce hours lost and mitigate claims costs.
Establish and maintain proactive communication with injured team members, their treating practitioners and other stakeholders to facilitate recovery and early, sustainable return to work.
- Actively monitor and manage return to work progress to ensure issues are identified early and timely action is taken.
- Provide coaching and advice to site management to drive a high level of compliance with the Injury & Claims Procedures, Incident Management Procedures and the development of capability in managing return to work processes.
- Promote and support the Early Intervention Program to maximise program take up rate
- Participate in case conferences with stakeholders to define and implement effective case management strategies.
- Maintain accurate claim and injury management records.
About you:
- Strong working knowledge of the Victorian Workplace Injury & Rehabilitation Act 2015
- Significant claims management experience in the Victorian workers compensation scheme
- Knowledge of medical terminology and treatment modalities relevant to workplace injuries
- Well developed stakeholder and interpersonal management skills
- Well developed written and verbal communication skills, analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience working in a self-insurance environment highly regarded
- Experience in application of the 'Health benefits of good work' and the 'Clinical Framework for Delivery of Health Services' to promote recovery and return to work
- Ability to work autonomously and complete work in a timely manner with a high level of attention to detail
- Excellent organisational, time management and prioritisation skills
- Ability to build and maintain excellent relationships at all levels across the business and with external stakeholders
- A strong commitment to meeting and exceeding expectations
