About The Marketing And BD Team

The Communications Executive supports the planning and delivery of Gilbert + Tobin's communications initiatives, with a focus on media relations, internal communications, publications and digital platforms. Reporting to the Senior Communications and Digital Marketing Manager, the role works closely with the BD team, partners and practice groups to ensure G+T's brand, values and market positioning are consistently communicated across all channels.

Key focus areas include managing media relations and content development, supporting internal and external communications strategies and delivering engaging and consistent messaging that supports G+T's reputation, profile and strategic objectives

About The Role

Key focus areas include delivering engaging, strategic content, managing digital communications and strengthening our media presence. You will also contribute to award submissions, thought leadership, internal messaging and firm-wide campaigns.

  • Develop and implement internal and external communications strategies and plans that align with firm priorities and brand positioning.
  • Draft and distribute media releases, thought leadership and editorial content, ensuring accuracy, consistency and alignment with G+T's writing guidelines and tone of voice.
  • Manage the firm's digital communication channels, including newsletters, alumni updates, podcasts and social media, ensuring they are engaging, relevant and aligned with brand guidelines.
  • Support media relations activities, including managing relationships with journalists, responding to media enquiries and coordinating interview and commentary opportunities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to create, edit and publish thought leadership, news and publications on the website.
  • Contribute to internal communications initiatives, ensuring employees are informed, engaged and aligned with firm values and strategy.
  • Support corporate social responsibility and diversity and inclusion communications, helping to promote the firm's initiatives and impact.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and emerging communication practices to identify opportunities for improvement and differentiation
  • Manage communications processes, guidelines and resources, ensuring efficiency, consistency and compliance with best practice.

About You

To be successful, you will bring strong writing skills, stakeholder engagement experience and an enthusiasm for impactful communications.

In addition, you will have:

  • Proven experience developing and delivering communication strategies and campaigns.
  • Experience in media relations, including drafting media releases and managing journalist engagement.
  • Familiarity with digital platforms, including social media, newsletters, podcasts and web publishing.
  • Strong understanding of the legal industry and its trends, with the ability to translate complex information into clear and engaging content.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt content for different audiences and channels.
