As our Kerb Lead Finisher, you will work along side our Leading Hand who operates the machine. You will be responsible for leading a small team of concrete finishers ensuring everything behind the machine is completed within the allocated time frame and to a high standard. The role requires an individual to be reliable with flexibility to work overtime, weekends and willingness to travel. This role will work with our extrusion team within South East Queensland and Wide Bay–Burnett region.

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Know how to read plans and ensure the scope of the job is completed within the allocated time frame.
  • Lead a small team of experienced kerb concrete finishers and train our future kerb concrete finishers.

  • Complete finishing work required to help the team get the job completed including but not limited to:

  • Run profile tools,

  • Cut and finish expansion joints,
  • Install and finish kerb adapters,
  • Install bitumen board,
  • Cut-out and finish driveways, pram ramps and kerb modifications,
  • Install form work required to hand pour, and
  • Hand pour and finish transitions, bull noses, corners, link ups and hook ons.
  • Ensure all work has been fully completed to a high standard and in accordance with local and state authority requirements.
  • Ensure the site is packed down completely and left in a tidy state
  • Training will be provided to help with set out.
  • Responsible and accountable for a safe working environment, equipment cleaning and maintenance requirements and; reporting of safety incidents
  • Encourage and demonstrate positive communication with client and amongst the team.

Experience & requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years experience working as a leading hand on a civil construction site.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a concrete finisher preferably kerb and channel but not necessary working behind a machine.
  • Demonstrated experience finishing machine laid kerb and hand poured kerb ideal but not necessary.
  • Have excellent time management and project management skills
  • Good knowledge about concrete
  • Current drivers license (Manual preferred)
  • Construction Industry White Card
  • Have relevant PPE: Long pants, long sleeve high vis shirt, hard hat and steel cap boots
  • Care about the detail
