About the Business

Due to strong growth, a new Operations Manager position has opened within a medium-sized electrical contracting business delivering commercial projects and maintenance services across Queensland & NSW. With a team of 50+ and eight figure turnover, we are investing in leadership and systems to support our next stage of expansion.

This role will be central to ensuring operational consistency, system improvements, and strong financial outcomes as the business continues to expand.

Reporting directly to the Director, you will be a pivotal member of the senior leadership team, acting as the link between management and the field workforce — driving efficiency through improved processes, strong performance, and a culture of safety.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations across Maintenance and Project divisions.
  • Optimise workforce planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Implement and improve operational and safety systems and reporting processes.
  • Monitor efficiency, workflows, and safety standards to ensure consistent high performance.
  • Ensure compliance with HSEQ standards and company procedures.
  • Act as the escalation point for operational challenges, ensuring quick resolution within the business.
  • Act as the primary operational contact for both new and existing clients, ensuring clear communication and strong relationships.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives that support business scalability.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven operational management experience in electrical contracting, construction, or related trades.
  • Strong knowledge of scheduling, labour productivity, and job costing.
  • Hands-on problem solver with a process-driven mindset.
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Commercially astute and able to translate operational data into business outcomes.
  • Proven track record of scaling businesses through improved systems, processes, and team performance.
  • Strong commitment to safety, with experience embedding a positive safety culture across teams.
