Program Details:
The UoM/MTHC New Graduate Program is a two- year program for a newly graduated audiologist. The graduate will work in both an academic and clinical environment under the supervision of clinical staff at Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic (MHCC) and academic staff, supporting teaching and/or research activities with the University of Melbourne Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology. At the completion of the two-year period the graduate will be eligible for full membership and clinical certification with Audiology Australia.
The program provides a recently graduated audiologist with an introduction teaching and research, consolidation of clinical skills, an introduction to clinical teaching, the and the opportunity to develop specific skills in an identified clinical area of interest There is the opportunity to undertake a PhD with the Department of Audiology and Speech Pathology upon completion of the program.
The new graduate audiologist will have dual part-time, fixed-term employment contracts that will collectively form full-time employment at both the Melbourne Hearing Care Clinic and The University of Melbourne. The new graduate will undertake one unit of clinical supervision training to facilitate their journey in becoming an effective clinical educator. They will also be funded to attend the Audiology Australia conference in 2027, will take part in a peer support program and will have the opportunity to undertake other paid professional development courses.
