As a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor in Econometrics at the University of Melbourne, you'll join one of Australia's premier economics departments. You'll have the opportunity to conduct influential research, teach at the forefront of econometrics, and shape the next generation of economic thinkers. Your responsibilities will include:
Conduct High-Impact Research: Publish in top-tier journals, secure competitive grants, and engage with international academic networks to advance econometric knowledge.
Deliver Excellence in Teaching: Develop and teach specialist courses in econometrics at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, fostering student success and satisfaction.
Provide Academic Leadership: Mentor junior colleagues, contribute to departmental initiatives, and represent the university in professional forums.
Supervise Research Students: Guide Honours, Masters, and PhD students, creating a rigorous and supportive research environment.
You may be a great fit if:
You are an accomplished econometrician with a strong track record of publications in leading journals, a passion for teaching excellence, and the ability to secure competitive research funding and contribute to the department's international standing
You may also:
Have a PhD in Economics or Econometrics with a focus on advanced quantitative methods.
Possess a robust publication record in top-tier economics and econometrics journals.
Demonstrate experience in securing competitive research grants and supervising postgraduate students.
Have proven teaching excellence at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in econometrics and quantitative methods.
Show a commitment to academic leadership and the ability to contribute to the department's strategic goals.

The Department of Economics at the University of Melbourne is a leading economics department in Australia . It has 95 academic staff and is part of a larger community of economists at the university. This includes the Melbourne Business School with 11 academic economists and econometricians and the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research with 43 researchers undertaking research and consultancy projects for government and private sector clients.
The Faculty of Business and Economics holds Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) accreditation and European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS) accreditation .
