Consultant Child

The Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) is seeking a consultant child & adolescent psychiatrist to lead an early intervention service for first episode psychosis.
Clinicians will work closely with the Unit Director, Nursing Unit Manager, CYMHS colleagues and external agencies to ensure appropriate inpatient care and bed allocation.
Candidates must have experience as a senior clinician in acute adolescent and/or adult psychiatry, in inpatient and community settings, with knowledge of NSW Mental Health Act (2007).
Required Skills and Qualifications- MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or eligibility for Specialist Psychiatrist registration.
- Certificate of Advanced Training in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (RANZCP) or Membership of the Faculty of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (RANZCP).
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to evidence-based intervention and further an interest in psychotic illness.
Preparedness to participate in on-call service; current NSW driver's license and ability to drive are also required.
Others- Lead in assessment and management of young people and families with first presentations of psychotic illness.
- Supervise registrars and participate in the CYMHS on-call roster.
