Lead Medical Receptionist - General Practice

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment. Your responsibilities will include managing the reception area, coordinating patient appointments, and providing administrative support to the Practice Manager and our healthcare professionals. This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and assist patients with a friendly and professional manner
  • Manage appointment bookings and patient records
  • Handle phone and email inquiries promptly and courteously
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure smooth clinic operations
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area
  • Process billing and payments
  • Train and supervise reception staff

About You:

  • Previous experience in a medical reception role (leadership experience will be highly regarded)
  • Minimum 1-2 years of medical reception experience is required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency in Best Practice software (or similar medical software) and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while building team cohesion
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • A compassionate and patient-focused approach
  • Must be an Australian citizen with full work rights

Roster:

The successful applicant will work Monday to Friday - 38hr weekly
