Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Davidson Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

This role blends strategic delivery oversight, strong client engagement, and hands-on project leadership to ensure we deliver measurable impact for our financial services clients.

A great opportunity to make the role your own where you'll combine executive‑level delivery leadership with credible technical depth-guiding squads across architecture, software engineering, data, cloud and AI to ship secure, scalable solutions aligned to client standards, policies, and controls.

Key details:

  • Strategic leadership role with scope to shape delivery and grow high-performing teams
  • Partner with Tier‑1 banking executives and delivery leaders to lead impactful transformation initiatives across priority portfolios
  • Tackle complex challenges using AI, data, and modern engineering practices

What you'll do

Delivery & Client Leadership

  • Navigate bank governance and risk frameworks (architecture/risk forums, change management, SDLC controls/SoD) and ensure compliance with APRA CPS 234/CPS 230 and internal standards.
  • Own end‑to‑end delivery for complex consulting and technology programs, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and outcomes are met.
  • Serve as primary delivery lead and trusted advisor for executive stakeholders (CIO/CTO/CDO and business heads), identifying value and growth opportunities.
  • Drive a client‑centric culture; partner with practice and account leaders to craft high‑impact, AI‑enabled solutions aligned to business priorities.

Engineering & Architecture Leadership

  • Set technical direction and delivery approach across squads: architecture runway, solution options, trade‑offs, and risk management.
  • Chair/guide architecture and design reviews (non‑functional requirements, security, performance, reliability, operability).
  • Champion engineering excellence: CI/CD, test automation, GitOps, IaC, SRE/observability, quality gates, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure secure‑by‑design and compliance‑aware delivery
    within bank control environments
for bank‑grade systems (identity, data protection, auditability, resilience), aligned to APRA obligations (e.g., CPS 234, CPS 230).
  • Uplift engineering capability-coach Engineering Managers, Tech Leads, and Architects; embed modern ways of working and standards.

AI, Data & Integration

  • Guide practical AI adoption (LLM integration patterns, retrieval, guardrails, MLOps) and measurable AI product delivery.
  • Oversee data platform and integration initiatives (event‑driven architectures, APIs/microservices, streaming, canonical data models).
  • Partner with client risk, security, and data governance teams to enable safe, compliant innovation.

Practice Growth & People

  • Build and scale cross‑functional consulting teams; attract, develop, and retain top talent.
  • Contribute to playbooks, frameworks, assets, and repeatable delivery patterns.
  • Model values‑led leadership; foster an inclusive, collaborative, and outcomes‑focused culture.
