Lead Strategic Communications for NSW Seniors, Carers and Volunteers

Your role

We are seeking a highly motivated communications professional with a passion for improving outcomes for seniors, carers and volunteers across NSW.

In this role, you will be at the forefront of delivering strategic government communication campaigns and projects that aim to drive positive social change. This includes work related to the NSW Seniors portfolio and other related initiatives, such as leading communications for the NSW Seniors Festival, the largest event for Seniors in the southern hemisphere

What you'll do

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the strategic development and delivery of several communication strategies. Your work will make a tangible difference in promoting inclusion, wellbeing and community engagement across NSW.

You will:

  • Champion innovative communication solutions to raise awareness about programs and initiatives supporting seniors, carers and volunteers.
  • Lead the development of impactful government advertising campaigns that connect with diverse audiences and communicate important messages.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholder, including government bodies, community organisations and policy leaders, to align communications with the department's goals.

Continuously monitor and assess the effectiveness of communication strategies, ensuring that they remain responsive to emerging trends, stakeholder feedback, and evolving needs in the seniors, carers, and volunteers space.

What we're looking for

  • Experience in managing complex communications activities and building strong working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and managing government advertising campaigns that engage and influence diverse stakeholders and communities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a strategic mindset and the ability to drive innovative communications across a wide geographic area.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to consult and liaise with people at all levels within the organisation.
  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant field and/or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience with demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.
