About our role

As a Demand Planning Analyst for the Simplot Global Food Integrated Business Planning (IBP) team, you will be in a role that stretches your analytical expertise and relationship-building abilities to successfully work across Planning, Sales, and Operations.

This is a permanent full-time role based at our Chifley Park office in Mentone, reporting to our Senior Manager Demand Planning APAC.

You will use quantitative data analysis and market intelligence to recommend adjustments to customer demand forecasts and predict sales trends. Keeping an eye out for bias and reducing forecast error are key metrics for success, but you will also be called upon to run complex scenarios and present data and recommendations in a way that enables our business leaders to make the best decisions possible.

You will quickly build relationships and establish yourself as the trusted Supply Chain advisor to the business, positioning the company to meet future demands for our customers.

What you will do

  • Support the Demand Planning, Commercial, and Supply Chain teams across Simplot's full product portfolio
  • Use statistical models and market intelligence to refine customer demand forecasts and predict sales trends
  • Analyse large datasets to uncover insights, reduce forecast error, and identify bias
  • Run complex simulations and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making
  • Translate data into compelling stories that highlight trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Present clear, actionable recommendations that influence business decisions and drive performance
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to bring existing analytical tools to life and embed them into business processes
  • Act as a business partner, helping teams interpret data and uncover the "so what?" behind the numbers
  • Collaborate with global counterparts, including the US team, to share knowledge and build capability
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance forecasting and planning effectiveness

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in demand planning, analytics, or a related field
  • Demonstrates strong analytical capability with expertise in statistical forecasting and data modelling
  • Skilled in Time-Series and Cause-and-Effect modelling techniques
  • Proficient in Excel, Power BI, Tableau, and forecasting platforms such as SAP IBP
  • Communicates effectively and engages stakeholders with clarity and influence
  • Approaches work with a proactive mindset and a passion for continuous improvement
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and connecting data insights to business outcomes
  • Known for functional and technical strengths including decision quality, approachability, listening, peer relationships, and problem solving
