Job DescriptionJoin TAL Australia as an Actuarial System Specialist and drive innovation at the heart of our Finance and Actuarial teams. In this position, you'll collaborate closely with talented colleagues to enhance and evolve the actuarial systems that underpin business-critical processes—from liability and capital valuations to embedded value and business planning.
You'll play a key part in designing, building, testing, and implementing actuarial projection models using the industry-leading Prophet Enterprise platform. Your expertise will help shape and support ongoing system enhancements, ensuring we meet the evolving needs of strategic projects and deliver insightful analysis, robust reporting, and streamlined operations.
This is a 10-month fixed term contract.
In this role you will:
- Complete projection Modelling (Prophet)
- Prepare and review technical specifications that meet end user requirements and teams coding standards
- Perform Prophet developments to specifications
- Perform and document system testing activities (unit testing, regression testing)
- Deploy approved changes to production environments in line with controls and procedures
- Analyse and specify data requirements (variable names, formats, attributes) for prophet model inputs and outputs
- Contribute to the build and implementation of data flow process interacting with the IDR (Insurance Data Repository for Prophet model inputs and outputs) to meet IFRS reporting requirements
- Qualified Actuary (or nearly qualified)
- Strong experience working in the Life Insurance industry
- Deep knowledge and experience with Prophet (programming language and software operation)
- Strong technical skills in programming and data analysis
- Strong SQL and Microsoft Excel skills
- Demonstrated capability to validate and critically assess complex outcomes
- Sound communication skills
