**Job Description**:
Join Australia's largest Life Insurance company, working within the Actuarial System team as an Actuarial System Specialist. Working flexibly from our Sydney office you will be responsible for supporting key projects as well as ongoing BAU development and enhancements of actuarial systems in support of liability and capital valuations, embedded value, and business planning.
In this role you will:
- Prepare Model design documents based on project/user requirements
- Perform technical review of design documents against project/user requirements and TAL prophet coding standards
- Prepare development environment and perform Prophet coding
- Perform system testing activities
- Provide end user support during UAT
- Identify areas of model improvement and efficiency
- Modify data flow processes (primarily DCS or SQL) to maintain system integration points in line with model changes
- Contribute to the design and build of a results database for prophet model output which meets Actuarial end user reporting requirements
**Qualifications**:
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A tertiary degree in a financial discipline (preferably actuarial)
- Strong knowledge and experience with Prophet (programming language and software operation)
- Experience working in an Actuarial role, ideally within the Life Insurance industry
- Strong SQL and Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong technical skills in programming and data analysis
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to sense check complex results
