We are excited to be recruiting for a
Technical Assessment Officer
for our Developer Services team, that forms part of our Customer & Innovation group.

The Customer and Innovation group leads and champions the way Urban Utilities connects with its customers. Our approach is focused on remaining contemporary, by understanding the current and future needs of our customers and appropriately shaping our services.

In this role engage with customers and stakeholders to assess/assure Water Approval applications and related services with supervisory support. This will involve mitigating and resolving technical issues associated with water and wastewater access and network design for development to ensure effective and efficient services.

Some of your accountabilities will include:

  • Assess Water Approval applications (pre-assessment, assessment, design, construction or post-construction) and provide specialist guidance on the interpretation and application of South east Queensland Water Supply and Sewerage Design and Construction codes, policies, processes and agreed standards specific to Water Approvals and related services.
  • Undertake water and wastewater network planning/ design / compliance activities for development in line with industry best practice and to advise / condition/ assure network design suitability to manage impacts.
  • Study, analyse and evaluate engineering data collected for Water Approval conditioning / certification against Water Approval conditions, codes, policies and agreed standards.
  • Produce, update and provide best practice assessment of water and wastewater network and infrastructure requirements and impacts associated with proposed development within defined timeframes (pre-assessment, assessment, construction, post-construction).

About You:

  • Formal civil engineering qualification or some experience in planning/design/construction of water and wastewater infrastructure.
  • You are passionate and driven to find customer centric outcomes that benefit our communities.
  • You have a growth mindset and can drive ahead with great focus and resilience.
  • Can build partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders to meet shared objectives.
  • Some familiarity with Development and Water Approval applications and processes would be advantageous.
