About the Division
The Operations Division manages the effective delivery of QRA managed funding programs, including responsibility for overseeing the joint State and Commonwealth Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) and resilience funded projects by State and Local Government agencies and Non-Government Organisation's.
About the Role
Leadership and Management
Lead the strategic direction for the Assessments team (DRFA and non DRFA) and the Coordination team, fostering an environment which values program performance and stakeholder relationships.
Lead effective workforce / workload planning and management and ensure recruitment, performance management and learning and development processes are in place to reflect organisational capability priorities.
Proactively coach, mentor and support the teams to create a high performing, flexible and supportive working environment, that keeps abreast of current program trends, related policies and emerging opportunities.
Provide authentic leadership that positively influences, supports, builds and nurtures relationships.
Lead initiatives that improve team contribution to program delivery and monitor progress and performance.
Technical
Contribute to the strategic direction of the Operations Division and QRA's vision for stronger, safer, resilient Queensland communities in alignment with QRA's Strategic Plan
Provide expert advice and recommendations to the General Manager on program risk management priorities.
Engage with the senior leadership team and executive leadership team to provide advice on current and proposed programs to achieve successful portfolio outcomes.
In conjunction with QRA directors contribute to program analysis and advice on current and future program risks, learnings and improvements.
Work collaboratively across government to influence successful program performance outcomes.
Manage risk and ensure appropriate governance is applied, ensuring all team activities are within policy and procedure and that the team's establishment / budget is monitored and managed.
Initiate, oversee and develop formal QRA related responses, including briefing notes, reports, presentations, and correspondence.
Stakeholder Relationships
Establish and maintain effective communication strategies, protocols, stakeholder negotiation and liaison activities within QRA and across diverse stakeholder groups in private and public sector organisations.
Develop, foster and strengthen effective relationships with key stakeholders across local, state and federal agencies, and industry to continue to build a collaborative partnership approach to support cross agency initiatives, projects and information sharing.
Represent QRA at the local, state and national level and present and participate in key government and industry forums.
Provide written and verbal advice and communications to high-level stakeholders including QRA's CEO and Board, local Mayors and CEO's, state Director-General's and Ministers and Commonwealth agencies.
