- Strategic and technical leadership role
- Enhance regional safety and infrastructure resilience
- Flexible working options, meaningful impact
Are you ready to take the next step in your engineering career, leading dam safety initiatives and shaping the future of headworks infrastructure? If you're passionate about asset management, risk mitigation, and contributing to community wellbeing, read on
About the roleThe Senior Asset Engineer will lead the development and implementation of our dam safety program and support asset renewal planning across our dams and headworks portfolio.
In this dynamic role, you'll be responsible for ensuring our dams meet regulatory and performance standards, while minimising lifecycle costs. You'll lead risk assessments, emergency planning, and technical investigations, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver safe, sustainable infrastructure outcomes.
You'll also support minor capital works projects, provide engineering assurance for major upgrades, and contribute to long-term strategic planning—including a 10-year outlook for dam safety and capital investment.
This hybrid role includes site visits across our region, so a current Victorian driver's licence is required.
About youYou're a strategic thinker with a technical foundation in dam engineering principals and design. You thrive in complex environments, balancing safety, compliance, and performance. You're curious, resilient, and committed to continuous improvement.
With sound commercial acumen and the ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively, you'll be vital to setting the strategic intent within the department and planning for our future. Your well-honed communication and stakeholder engagement skills allow you to build strong working relationships.
Your qualifications in Civil or Structural engineering will be tested in this complex role, but your previous experience in dam safety and design will be the key to your success. You'll thrive in a supportive and collaborative team environment, knowing the work you do will make a lasting impact.
