Why Your Expertise Matters
We're looking for a seasoned engineering leader to lead the Asset Management function at Vales Point Power Station. In this pivotal role, you'll provide strategic leadership, shape long-term asset management strategies, and drive performance across the site, working closely with site leadership and operational teams to ensure reliable and efficient energy production.
What You'll Do

- Implement Asset Strategies: Oversee corrective, preventative, process safety, and whole-life strategies to optimise asset performance while managing risk and controlling costs.
- Outage and Project Oversight: Lead the planning, governance, and execution of major maintenance, capital projects, and planned outages. Ensure risks are effectively managed, contractors and resources are coordinated, and works are delivered safely, on time, to quality standards, and within budget
- Contract and Vendor Management: Oversee external contractors and consultants, ensuring compliance with contracts, high-quality deliverables, and resolution of commercial disputes.
- Budget Management: Develop and maintain systems to deliver short- and long-term budgets aligned with asset strategies, ensuring capital and operating costs are controlled.
- Security and Compliance: Ensure all asset management activities comply with security policies, statutory requirements, and safety, quality, and environmental standards.
What You'll Bring
- Tertiary degree in Engineering, with post-graduate qualifications in Management or equivalent experience.
- Extensive management and leadership experience in a complex, heavy, capital-intensive industry, with a proven track record of achieving results.
- Demonstrated experience leading an asset management function, preferably in heavy industry, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements across plant, safety, environment, and legislation such as the NEL.
- Ability to lead teams in analysing complex problems, applying strategic thinking, developing solutions, and driving continuous improvement.
- Extensive experience in contract management, including oversight, negotiation, and ensuring compliance with technical, commercial, and ethical standards.
