Position Objective - Structural Engineering

This position is responsible for assisting the engineering team to deliver quality and timely engineering design and documentation and provision of construction administration services as required.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Work individually and as part of a team to deliver projects
  • Prepare and issue engineering documentation and certification as required.
  • Carry out engineering design calculations
  • Carry out site inspections and prepare reports

  • Assist the team to develop, implement and monitor projects to ensure compliance with

  • specifications,

  • delivery standards and
  • engineering practices
  • Monitor project budgets.
  • Monitor and manage their own workload and resources.
  • Communicate with clients, builders / contractors through design and construction.
  • Prepare written responses to builders / contractor and provide sketch detail as req.
  • Willingness to continue training and development in engineering

  • Willingness to travel between Ballarat and Geelong offices as required

  • Noting the primary office location for this position is the Geelong office.

Qualifications
  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree or Masters in Civil Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer with Endorsement to practice in Victoria.
  • Hold a drivers license in Victoria
Experience
  • Minimum 8 years in Structural Engineering design.
  • Have a broad understanding of Building code of Australia NCC and Australian Standards relevant to structural engineering
  • Competent in use of MS Office, Word and Excel.
  • Competent in use of Bluebeam, SpaceGass, Structural Toolkit, Inducta and similar programs
Personal Qualities
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to collaborate as part of a team.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexibly between projects.
