Senior Mechanical Engineer – Murray Irrigation

About the role

Murray Irrigation is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Asset Management team.   The Senior Mechanical Engineer supports internal services with technical expertise to ensure our asset portfolio achieves the company's objectives by delivering level of service, optimising lifecycle costs and actively managing asset risks.

This full-time, ongoing position is offered as a hybrid role, with the expectation to work from our Deniliquin office at least three days per week.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

• Overseeing the review of physical assets, their associated performance, risks and expenditures over their lifecycles for the purpose of achieving the company's objectives.
• Accountability for condition monitoring of mechanical assets, plans and future requirements. Develop, design and implement innovative solutions to minimise risk and reduce asset lifecycle cost.
• Leading Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on persistent issues and implement solution.
• The development of efficient, effective maintenance strategies & methodology to support maintenance and capital works programs.
• The ongoing assessment of maintenance strategies and condition monitoring techniques against industry best practice. Develop, design and implement improvement opportunities.
• Ensuring all maintenance strategies and work tasks can be completed safely, in accordance with Australian Standards, Legislations and Acts.
• Developing, designing and implementing solutions for existing tasks that are unsatisfactory or pose risk to execution teams.
• Conducting FMEA on key assets and develop preventative solutions, and trigger strategic response plans.
• Ensuring Maintenance strategies and condition monitoring techniques are undertaken and aligned against industry best practice and implement improvement opportunities

What you need to succeed.

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (minimum)
• Minimum 8 years mechanical engineering experience, with experience in asset management
• Ability to develop, maintain and monitor performance against departmental frameworks and procedures
• Be outcome focussed and motivated to achieve service delivery standards
• Ability to operate under pressure and apply problem solving methodologies to achieve outcomes
• Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation skills, for dealing with a wide range of customers and staff
• Be able to develop and lead change against key performance indicators
• Highly developed report writing skills
• Intermediate skills and knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Internet)
• Experience with Asset Management Systems and data analysis tools
• Knowledge of condition monitoring techniques
• Current drivers licence.
