About the Role

As the Strategic Sourcing Assistant, you will be a key contributor to our procurement team, supporting the Strategic Sourcing Manager and acting as a custodian of procurement policy and process. You'll lead sourcing activities for site services, operational and general consumables, and Tier 2 packaging suppliers, while driving compliance, value creation, and continuous improvement across our procurement function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong supplier relationships and collaborate with internal teams to align procurement strategies with operational needs.
  • Conduct supplier reviews and implement value-driven strategies to meet savings targets.

  • Champion procurement best practices through policy compliance and process enhancements.

  • Oversee daily supplier interactions, lead contract and pricing negotiations, service level agreements and develop technical expertise for facilities, consumables, packaging and installations
  • Provide actionable insights and reporting to improve spend visibility and support transformation initiatives.

  • Manage contracts for facilities, consumables, and installations, ensuring reliable service and commercial value.

  • Support service level agreements with equipment manufacturers and optimize service scopes.

  • Maintain SAP procurement data integrity and leverage digital tools like Power BI for spend analysis.
  • Promote sustainable procurement practices, including recycling and environmental responsibility.

  • Contribute to strategic sourcing plans and conduct market studies to inform category strategies.

Skills and Competencies

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (e.g., Supply Chain, Business, Procurement).

  • Passion for sourcing, purchasing and negotiation with strong Procurement acumen

  • Analytical skills to organise data, highlight trends and identify opportunities
  • Ability to work independently with strong personal organisation and time management.
  • Strong customer focus and team orientation.
  • Attention to detail and exceptional communication skills.
  • Effective relationship-building and stakeholder influence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, SAP, and procurement databases.
  • Ability to drive process and cultural change across departments.
