SRJ Walker Wayland is an accounting and advisory firm dedicated to building genuine relationships with our clients and staff utilising a holistic business approach to achieve both business and personal goals.
We are an expanding Queensland based firm with a team of approximately 75 people across our locations in Brendale and on the Sunshine Coast, as well as an offshore team. Our firm positions strategic planning as one of its core offerings guiding the elements of Tax, Audit and Accounting. The SRJ Walker Wayland team services SME's, non-profit organisations, corporations, partnerships and individuals across areas of Accounting, Audit & Assurance, Business Solutions and Business Advisory.

About the role:
We are currently seeking a full-time Team Assistant to join our team based at Brendale. This is a varied role where you are ultimately responsible for exceptional client service delivery both internally and externally. In this role, you will provide support for your partner and a business services team. The successful candidate will have a proactive attitude where you are eager to show initiative and can be flexible with your daily workflow. You will work in a small team of accountants who work both in the office and remotely.
Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position.
Previous experience within an accounting firm is highly desirable for this position, as is experience with Xero Practice Management and cloud-based technologies within an accounting firm.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
Minimum of 4 years' experience working in a similar role, with previous experience in a professional services or financial services firm highly desirable
A minimum of 4 years' experience in any administrative or assistant role is required.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Excellent communication skills and personal presentation
Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with practice management software, with experience in the following software being highly regarded:
• Xero Practice Management
• CAS 360
• ATO Portal
• FYI
Continuous desire for use of technology to enhance work efficiencies
Willingness to learn and take on new challenges and experiences
Outcome based professional work ethic, meeting client deadlines
A strong degree of initiative with the ability to work with minimal supervision
Enthusiasm and self-motivation
