Our client is a privately owned group of companies consisting of a dedicated team committed to delivering high quality commercial construction and industrial electrical, telecommunications and security projects.

This professionally operated organisation has operated within the industry for over 25 years, growing to be a major player in the industry, with four offices and a track record of successfully delivering multi-million-dollar landmark projects.

As the company continues to grow and secure new projects, we are seeking a Contracts Administrator to join their construction division. This role will be based on a major project in Toowoomba, requiring a locally based candidate, and will involve one week of initial training in Brisbane before commencing on site.

Primary Objective

Working as part of the Project Management team, you will contribute to the successful delivery of a large, multimillion dollar project. This is the ideal opportunity for someone who is a strong, confident communicator, who enjoys operating in a fast-paced working environment and delivering high quality outcomes.  

Responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with Project and Site Managers to provide contract management support including completion of compliance / regulatory documentation, assisting in the preparation of variations, monitoring contractual milestones, managing sub-contractor contracts including all associated registers
  • Preparation of monthly reporting, subcontractor and supplier invoice certification and monthly progress claims
  • Maintain and co-ordinate information for project and job files (electronic and hard copy), ensuring that all project documentation is recorded as per company processes
  • Review and understand contract conditions, post contract monitoring, preparation of contract notices liaison with client Contract Administrator to resolved matters pertaining to the contract, variations and progress claims.
  • Coordinate and attend project meetings, ensuring that all relevant information is made available and meeting minutes are recorded.

Key Skills and Attributes 

This career opportunity is best suited to a Contracts Administrator who brings previous experience in an administrative position within the Construction Industry. You will also bring the following:  

  • Previous experience in a Contracts Administrators position, with a record of successful contracts management
  • Formal qualification in contract management, construction management or quantity surveying or electrical project management experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of project stages and contacts documentation
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to read and interpret reports, documents and figures relating to projects
  • The ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Passion for delivering high quality outcomes, and strong attention to detail
  • Enjoy working in partnership with internal stakeholders to deliver on project and organisational objectives
