About the role

As a full-time Estimator with McElligotts (VIC) Pty Ltd, you will play a crucial role in the securing projects for the company. Based in Laverton North, VIC, this position offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in estimating to support the successful delivery of a diverse range of projects both medium and large scale.

What you'll be doing

  1. Preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for projects
  2. Analysing drawings, specifications, and other project documents to identify labour, material, and equipment requirements
  3. Collaborating with project managers, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather pricing information
  4. Maintaining and updating cost databases to ensure accurate and up-to-date pricing information
  5. Providing support and advice to the project team throughout the project process
  6. Identifying and mitigating potential risks and cost overruns
  7. Participating in the preparation of bids and tenders

What we're looking for

  1. Relevant tertiary qualification in construction management, quantity surveying, or a related field
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a construction estimating role, preferably within the commercial or industrial construction sectors
  3. Proficient in the use of estimating software and other relevant computer applications
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve cost-related issues
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
  6. Attention to detail and a keen eye for accuracy
  7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
