You've worked in privately owned businesses where you managed the bookkeeping/accounting side, ensuring everything was completed accurately and on time so that the owners could focus on growing the business.

Now we need you to do the same for this growing, longstanding second-generation Australian manufacturer with 140+ staff and very hardworking owners and execs.

For a while the accounts area has not had a manager, which has meant the CEO has been pushing and prompting tasks to be done as the small team has either lacked accountability or skill.

There will be a need to improve systems and/or people to make sure things get done correctly and on time without CEO involvement.

You'll have a small team of 1-2 assisting, but that could change. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the accounts & bookkeeping, including accounts payable, receivable, BAS, payroll, and preparing end-of-month and annual reports for external accountants.

You'll need to get the accounting and books back in shape so debtors are collected on time, reporting to management is accurate and timely, and everything is up to date so the executives can focus on managing and growing the business.

The role will be demanding and challenging, especially at the start when you get everything in good order first, then it should be about maintaining and improving as the business grows.
