About the role:

BBC Digital is currently seeking an experienced Accountant to join the team in its Head Office on the Gold Coast. The Accountant will work closely with the Financial Controller to support the development of the business. The role will be primarily responsible for assessing sales orders/contracts plus core financial accounting duties, providing insightful reports of business performance.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Review sales orders/contracts for validity in accordance with company guidelines;
  • Assist credit supervisor with collection of bad debts;
  • Process monthly/yearly General Ledger journals including accruals, prepayments, leases, depreciation and intercompany reconciliations and charges;
  • Ensure the accuracy of general ledgers and the reconciliation of balance sheet;
  • Daily operations including maintaining sales order queue and aged debtors collections;
  • Support and do training for other team members in Finance team;
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders such as Equifax; Company Lawyers;

To be successful for this role, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualifications in accounting or related discipline;
  • Minimum 3 years relevant accounting experience;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Well developed financial and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret financial and non-financial information;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Sound knowledge and experience working with Excel;
  • Ability to work with different departments;
  • Leadership Skills;
