You will be working collaboratively in a team environment to improve all aspects of the LSU (Landcare Services Unit).

We are seeking a driven and experienced Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of the Landcare Services business operations at B4C. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of the LSU, initiating tendering works, assessing operational capacity, managing logistics, and ensuring the successful completion of environmental projects.

Organisational background

Bulimba Creek Catchment Coordinating Committee (B4C) is a long standing and well-regarded not-for-profit Catchment and Landcare group. We are dedicated to the preservation and enhancement of both Bulimba Creek and the wider SEQ's natural environment. We work to protect and enhance natural bushland and waterways particularly in the urban context.

B4C operates a professional LSU that specialises in contracts to undertake ecological rehabilitation work for diverse clients, including governments, government owned businesses, other companies and private stakeholders. This social enterprise helps to both fund and provide operational support for our catchment and environmental initiatives.

This position works closely with and reports to the B4C Catchment Manger

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and professional leadership in managing the Landcare team.
  • Review and enhance work practices in collaboration with staff, to strengthen the operations and capabilities of the field unit.
  • Foster strong client relationships by ensuring high-quality service to existing clients while actively seeking new business opportunities.
  • Deliver specialised ecological services that achieve both biodiversity outcomes and business objectives.
  • Build upon and further enhance the strong reputation of the Landcare Services Unit.
  • Work collaboratively with B4C catchment staff and regular volunteers to achieve shared goals.

Skills & Experience

  • Position requires excellent communication, technical, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or alternative - e.g. degree in ecology, conservation & land management, environment, or a relevant related discipline.
  • Proven experience in a similar operations and business management role.
  • Knowledge of Landcare services and project management.
  • Familiarity with workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in client initiation and management.
