About the role

We are seeking an experienced Sewing Machinist with plain, flat seam or overlocking expertise to join our manufacturing team at Wilderness Wear Australia Pty Ltd in Preston, Victoria.

Although this position is being offered as a casual position, those interested in full and part time work are also strongly encouraged to apply.

What you will do:

  • Operate one or more sewing machines (plain, flat seam or overlocking) to assemble high-quality outdoor apparel products
  • Be able to work with a variety of fabrics and in particular, stretched knitted fabrics
  • Have experience working in a production environment to produce high quality garments in an

    efficient and timely manner
  • Follow production schedules and quality control processes to meet deadlines
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised work environment

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Sewing Machinist, specifically in flat seam and overlocking techniques
  • Strong attention to detail and be flexible and adaptable to all business needs
  • Ability to work efficiently and be a reliable, punctual, and a team person
  • Good communication and teamwork skills, along with a positive, friendly and helpful manner
