Job Title

A creative and organized Production Assistant/Team Leader is required to join our sewing room crew in Cheltenham, VIC 3192.

This role involves working closely with the fabric cutter, head machinist, and manager to meet deadlines and schedules. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, be physically fit and strong for manual handling duties, and possess excellent communication and basic computer skills.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to take ownership of the role, contribute to quality inspections, and assist with sewing during busy periods. Forklift experience is an advantage but not essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist fabric cutter
  • Work with head machinist to distribute workload
  • Meet deadlines and schedules with Manager
  • Quality inspections
  • Operate automatic eyelet machine
  • Prepare orders for despatch and assist with inwards goods
  • Stock control of raw materials
  • Ability to assist with sewing during busy period

Requirements:

  • Physical fitness and strength for manual handling duties
  • Reliability and commitment to ongoing work
  • Able to read and speak English
  • High attention to detail
  • Good communication and basic computer skills
  • Forklift licence an advantage but not essential
