Love Athletica is a fast-growing Pilates and wellness business with studios across Australia — and now we're looking for a Bookkeeper / Accounts Officer to join our South Yarra head office team 4 days per week with the potential to transition into a full-time role as the business continues to expand.
This is a hands-on role where accuracy meets impact. You'll be the go-to person for managing the day-to-day finance operations across multiple entities, supporting a business that values collaboration, initiative, and attention to detail.
This role is ideal for someone with solid accounting experience who enjoys working in a dynamic, creative environment. Industry background is flexible – we are looking for the right person to fit our team You will be comfortable working across a multi-entity group, in a modern, open plan office environment
This is an end-to-end role working closely with, and reporting directly to, the CEO.
Key Responsibilities:
The role will initially include thetransition of the current bookkeeping function from the external provider to in-house.
1. General Bookkeeping & Accounts
- Maintain accurate and timely financial records across a number of entities in Xero
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable (minimal), and employee reimbursements
- Perform bank, credit card, and intercompany reconciliations
- General Ledger Maintenance
- Allocate income and expenses by department and channels.
2. Payroll – End-to-End Ownership
- Process end-to-end fortnightly and monthly payroll
- Manage and track leave and employee entitlements
- Ensure compliance with superannuation, payroll tax and Workcover obligations
- Prepare and lodge STP reports
- Prepare and reconcile payroll journals and ensure accurate GL coding
3. BAS, IAS & GST Compliance
- Prepare and lodge BAS and IAS for all entities
- Reconcile GST accounts and ensure compliance with ATO reporting requirements
- Any other statutory reporting preparation as needed
- Collaborate with external accountants where required
4. Month-End Close & Reporting
- Assist with month-end journals, accruals, and prepayment schedules
- Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation calculations
- Support CEO in preparing financial and performance reports including cash flow forecasts.
- Liaise with external accountants regarding year end reporting and tax returns
What We're Looking For:
- Certificate IV in Accounting & Bookkeeping
- Previous bookkeeping / accounts experience (minimum 3 years)
- Experience in payroll processing, preparing and lodging BAS/IAS returns
- Demonstrated experience in multi-entity payroll processing with end-to-end ownership of payroll functions
- Highly proficient user of Xero and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
- Clear communication and a proactive approach
- Someone who enjoys working with key business partners and stakeholders
- Australian citizenship is required for this position
