Look no further – our hospitality group is seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to play a pivotal role in our finance team.

At Barman and Larder Hospitality, we're not just in the business of serving food and drinks; we're crafting unforgettable experiences. With iconic venues like Left Bank Melbourne, Flour Child Cocktail Bar & Pizzeria, Metropolis Events, Melbourne Winery, Il Mercato Centrale and The Valiant Bar under our belt, we're setting the stage for national expansion. Working across our group of venues, you'll be at the heart of our finance operations.

Although this role is advertised as full-time, we're happy to discuss a part-time arrangement, approx. 30 hours per week over 3-4 days.

Your day-to-day will involve managing financial records specifically doing reconciliations, processing payroll and handling accounts payable and receivable. But here's the exciting part – we want someone who's not afraid to think outside the circle and bring fresh ideas to the table, pitching out-of-the-circle ideas for cost-saving measures and revenue growth opportunities. You will work closely with our in-house bookkeeper, internal and external accountants, and auditors when preparing financial records, maintaining records, and general bookkeeping duties.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Daily reconciliation of bank statements, investigating the differences and resolving any discrepancies
  • Accounts payable and managing our purchasing portal
  • Queueing payments to be made
  • Management of weekly payroll;
  • Ad hoc bookkeeping and administration as required.
  • General office duties as and when required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping, preferably in the hospitality or restaurant industry
  • Excellent experience with Xero essential
  • Experience processing payroll
  • Degree or qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is highly desirable
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and manage time effectively.
