An exciting opportunity awaits an ambitious and passionate Sous Chef to join the talented kitchen team across two of Broadbeach's most dynamic venues; The Beach Hotel Broadbeach and Cora Restaurant.

Backed by the strength and vision of Moreton Hospitality, this is a pivotal role for a strong second-in-charge looking to elevate their culinary leadership and make a meaningful impact in a fast-paced, high-quality kitchen environment.

As Sous Chef, you'll work hand-in-hand with our Head Chef and front-of-house leadership to deliver exceptional guest experiences through outstanding food, smooth service, and a positive, productive kitchen culture.

The Role – Key Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef in ensuring smooth day-to-day kitchen operations across both venues
• Consistently deliver superior food quality and guest satisfaction
• Coordinate kitchen prep and service to maximise profitability and minimise food waste
• Assist in designing new menu items in line with each venue's brand identity
• Oversee purchasing, stock control, and supplier relationships – with a focus on fresh, local produce
• Act as the Head Chef's right hand - confidently leading the team in their absence
• Work collaboratively with FOH leaders to ensure seamless service and communication
• Manage equipment upkeep and report any maintenance requirements promptly
• Support the planning and execution of event menus and team briefings
• Ensure full compliance with WHS, food safety, and hygiene standards
• Maintain a clean, well-organised kitchen at all times

The Beach Hotel Broadbeach

A vibrant coastal pub blending relaxed beachside vibes with all-day dining, classic pub favourites, and local hero dishes. With live entertainment, a strong local following, and a spacious beer garden, this is a community hub with a casual yet elevated food offering.

Restaurant Cora

A modern bistro-style space offering fresh, seasonal dishes in a laid-back, welcoming setting. Perfect for long lunches and relaxed dinners, Cora brings creativity and comfort together through its ever-evolving menu and warm hospitality.

Both venues operate from a central kitchen, ensuring consistency, collaboration, and efficiency.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior CDP ready to step up in a high-volume, quality-driven venue
• A calm, solutions-focused approach and strong leadership presence
• Sound understanding of stock control, food safety, and BOH operations
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative team mindset
• Passion for great food, great people, and creating great experiences
• A hands-on leader who sets the tone and leads by example
