Our venue is on the hunt for experienced Full-time and Part time Commis Chef or Chef de Partie to join our team at 'Babines' in Collingwood.

We are a modern bar taking inspiration from French drinking and culinary culture with a contemporary Australian spin.

The food menu is designed around shareable plates changing along the seasonality, strongly influenced by local produces and with French inspirations in mind.

What You'll Do:

  • Kitchen service: Set up of the kitchen, ensuring enough stock, preparation of the orders, cooking, plating, cleaning, closing up and Prep check list.
  • Preparation: Receiving and checking deliveries, Mise en Place, transformation of produces, preparation of recipes and storage of goods/finished good.
  • Creativity and stock control: You will be able to bring your personal touches on the menu with dish ideas and creative role for the right candidates. Will be in charge of ordering and stock control for the right person as well.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: Previous work experiences in professional kitchen or serving experience is essential. A minimum of 2 year of experience is preferred and qualifications are highly regarded.
  • Passion for the Industry: A genuine interest in hospitality industry scene, and providing exceptional service.
  • High Standards: You care about providing top-tier service and quality.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well within a small, close-knit team and pitch in wherever needed.
  • Positive Attitude: Good energy, friendly, approachable, and eager to engage with team members.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
