Penrith Municipality, Australia Dwelcom Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Dwelcom is a construction main contractor that operates across Australia providing remediation services for existing residential and commercial buildings, and construction responses to home warranty insurance scheme claims. Dwelcom Pty Ltd is part of the Maincom Group of businesses.

We are seeking a motivated, experienced Construction Manager with a passion for delivering projects to a high-quality standard, on time, and within budget.

The role will be based out of our office in Penrith, NSW and will play an important role in a fast-growing business as a trusted advisor, reporting to the State Manager. The role will lead the delivery of remediation projects, working closely with contracts administration and managing a team of construction supervisors. This is a full-time role that requires a leader who's not afraid to roll up their sleeves, get on site, and drive results firsthand.

This isn't a desk-bound role. We're after someone who thrives in the thick of it — coordinating delivery, liaising with homeowners and strata managers, assessing issues, and ensuring remediations are undertaken competently and with care. You'll be the key point of contact on the ground, setting the tone for quality, compliance, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end delivery of defect and remediation works resulting from home warranty insurance claims and building defect assessments.
  • Lead and manage via a team of construction supervisors:

  • Site inspections, building defects assessment, and scoping of required works.

  • Coordination and overseeing of suppliers and subcontractors to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Development of project programs and scheduling.
  • Be on-site regularly — leading by example, solving problems on the spot, and keeping projects moving.
  • Ensure all works comply with relevant building codes and regulations, and customer expectations.
  • Liaise with assessors, engineers, homeowners, and insurers with professionalism and empathy.
  • Maintain detailed site documentation and progress reporting

Budget and Financial Oversight:

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring all costs align with approved spending and profitability targets.
  • Monitor project expenses and approve cost variations as needed, maintaining transparency and fiscal responsibility.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize costs without compromising quality or safety.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Supervise and support construction supervisors, contractors, and other project personnel, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and guidance to staff, promoting best practices and professional growth.
  • Facilitate effective communication among team members, addressing any conflicts or challenges.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Act as the main point of contact for customers, providing regular project updates and addressing any concerns.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Conduct project meetings and prepare reports on project status, risks, and outcomes.

What We're Looking For:

  • 10+ years Proven experience in residential construction, ideally with a background in defect identification, remediation, or insurance-based work.
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, warranty insurance processes, and compliance standards, with a sound understanding of construction methodologies.
  • A hands-on leadership style — someone who leads from the front and is comfortable being actively involved in day-to-day site operations
  • Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and project resources effectively.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and strong communication skills including proficiency in written communication and reporting.
  • Trade certificate in a relevant construction discipline.
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary with performance-based bonuses
  • Vehicle allowance and travel expenses
  • Health and wellness benefits
  • Professional development and growth opportunities within the company

Please note: A police check will form part of the recruitment process.
